This 2025 marks the 17th KAPNAYAN, themed “A Cure’s Formula: Catalyzing Drug Discovery Towards Health Equity Through Medicinal Chemistry“.
Our History
It was the year 1964 when UPCA Chemical Society was founded by Artemio Cartaño, Luisito Tolentino, and Dario Sabularse. After ten years of being organized, the name of the Society was autonomously changed to the UPLB Chemical Society.
The UPLB Chemical Society prioritizes academic excellence by actively fostering and promoting scholarly attitudes towards its members. Annually, the organization sponsors the CHEM 18.1 Interlab Quiz Contest during the 1st semester, and the Chemistry Quiz Contest during the second semester.

1st Semester
Chem 18.1 Interlab Quiz Contest
The CHEM 18.1 Interlaboratory Quiz Contest is an annual activity held every first semester of the academic year. The quiz contest covers exercises and drills of the laboratory and lecture discussed until a week before the schedule of the event.
2nd Semester
Chemistry Quiz Contest
Chemistry Quiz Contest is an annual activity held every second semester of the academic year. The quiz contest covers various fields in Chemistry such as analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and organic chemistry.
