Our History
It was the year 1964 when UPCA Chemical Society was founded by Artemio Cartaño, Luisito Tolentino and Dario Sabularse. After ten years of being organized, the name of the society was autonomously changed to UPLB Chemical Society (ChemSoc).
Being the first and foremost objective of the UPLB Chemical Society, academic excellence is accomplished by instilling in its members and promoting to other students better scholastic attitudes towards the sciences, through quiz contests and various other programs.
The organization has annually sponsored the CHEM 18 (University Chemistry) Interlaboratory Quiz Contest, held every first semester and Chemistry Quiz Contest, held every second semester of the academic year.
The UPLB Chemical Society has not only succeeded in sponsoring university-wide quiz contests but in holding a national one as well. KAPNAYAN, a triennial week-long nationwide Chemistry fair that has been participated in by almost a hundred schools from all parts of the country.
It is one pride of the society that promotes enthusiasm for and awareness in the field of chemistry among the youth of different dialects.

Vision
The UPLB Chemical Society envisions itself as the premier IC-based academic organization known for its fun and intellectually-stimulating activities, continuing traditions, and unique style of developing individuals, as well as achieving honor and excellence in service of the UPLB studentry, the Filipino youth, and the community.
